The return of the Plateau State Governor’s Cup after a very long time of absence is a testament to the enthusiasm and love for football of the Plateau Football Association, PFA, Chairman, Hon Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande.

According to Dr Riti “Hon Kwande is a man of action who has demonstrated an immense love and enthusiasm for football on the Plateau with the resuscitation of the Governor’s Cup which has been long abandoned by previous PFA administrations.I commend him for this onerous task as football is a unifying factor”.
Hon Riti, said his presence at the stadium was a success tonic for his Bassa LG team, who were loosing 0-1 to Wase LG but turned things around with three 2nd half goals to carry the day and possibly qualify for the Quarter final.
“My presence was a tonic for the boys, who immediately I stepped into the stadium and the pitch during the break, gave them the needed impetus to fight and win convincingly with 3 goals in the 2nd half of the game”.
