The Plateau Football Association (PFA) visited Shendam Local Government Council, inspects and accredit facilities for the final match of the 2024 Plateau State Governor’s Cup. The delegation was warmly received by the Deputy Chairman, Hon. Paul Goeboro, alongside the council’s Secretary; Hon. Nicholas Christopher Niettiem, Supervisory Councillor for social services; Hon. Brendan Foumsuk and Hon.Comr. Julius Buba; the supervisory councillor for works, housing and transport, council’s directors among others.
As part of the visit, the PFA delegation conducted an inspection of the Shendam Mini Stadium to evaluate its readiness to host the prestigious Governor’s Cup final, proposed for December 29, 2024. The assessment focused on ensuring the stadium’s compliance with the necessary standard towards hosting the high-profile sporting event finals.
Leading the delegation was the Chairman of the PFA, Hon.Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, who presented a series of requests to the Shendam Local Government Council. These included provisions for players and staff welfare, enhanced security measures, and logistical support to ensure a seamless final of the tournament.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Shendam LGC expresses the council’s full commitment to hosting a successful and memorable event. He reaffirmed the Local Government Area’s readiness to meet the expectations of the PFA and the football-loving public. Dr. Nshe emphasized that Shendam, proudly known as The Home of Peace and Hospitality, is well-positioned to deliver an exceptional final match of the Governor’s Cup.
The visit to the council and stadium inspection marks a critical steps in the final preparations for the tournament, showcasing Shendam’s readiness to take the center stage as the host of this significant sporting event.
