All is now set for the final of the number one annual grassroots tournament in Nasarawa State,called Mailafia Peace And Unity Football Competition.
The annual competition, which is in its 8th consecutive year of play, will see both Obi United FC and Thunder Football Club battle each other out for the giant trophy and the mouthwatering prizes at stake.
The question on everybody’s lips is: Will Obi United FC allow the defending Champions, Thunder fc to make it the second time of winning the trophy in a bounce? Both are into their third final.
The much awaited final, which promises to be so interesting and challenging, will be played today by 4pm.
Meanwhile, Giant Killers FC answered to their name yesterday as they came from behind to win the bronze medal, beating Stallion FC 5-4 on penalties after the regulation time score ended 1-1.
Giant Killers, who were one man down after one of their players was sent off, went behind in the 38th minute, before equalizing via an own goal by Abacha.
It would be recalled that the Mailafia Peace And Unity Football Competition is aimed at promoting peace and unity in Nasarawa State and to also give the players a platform to excel in their chosen career.
