The Plateau State Director of Sports, Professor Ezra Gunen, has announced that Governor Caleb Mutfwang plans to remodel the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos by the end of 2025.
He shared this update during a visit by the newly elected executives of the Plateau State Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).
According to Professor Gunen, the remodeling will turn the stadium into a modern and impressive facility for sports activities in the state.
“By God’s grace, before 2025 ends, the governor will remodel the Rwang Pam Stadium into an admirable sports facility,” he said.
He added that a committee has made progress on plans to upgrade the Zaria Road Stadium and already submitted a report for its first phase of development.
Professor Gunen also assured SWAN executives that they would have an office space in the stadium once the remodeling is completed. This initiative demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing sports infrastructure in Plateau State and supporting stakeholders like SWAN.
Mr Ezra Gunen congratulated the newly elected SWAN EXCOs and assured them of his full support.
Earlier the newly elected SWAN Chairman,Mr Alfred Saiki,made some demands to the director of sports where he requested for collaboration with the sports ministry to organize training and workshops for SWAN members to enhance skills development and support for journalism in Plateau State, including sponsorship of sports Events and programs.
