Chairman Of NPFL Gives Reasons Of Plateau United fc Relocation To Another Venue:
The Nigeria Premier Football League has approved the relocation of all remaining home fixtures of Plateau United to an alternative venue for the rest of the season, citing security concerns.
Chairman of the NPFL, Gbenga Elegbeleye, said the decision was taken to safeguard players, officials, and traveling teams amid ongoing security challenges in Plateau State.
According to him, the move became necessary as the league enters a crucial stage where results carry significant weight. He emphasized that beyond competition, the welfare and safety of all participants remain a top priority.
βThe board had to act as we approach the final stretch of the season. While every match is important, we are equally concerned about the safety of teams. We want matches played in a conducive environment that allows players perform at their best, while we hope for a return to normalcy in Plateau State,β Elegbeleye stated.
Plateau United fc currently sits ninth on the league table but remain within their target of finishing in the top 4.
