*Rwang Pam Stadium Rehabilitation Hits 80% as Contractor Reaffirms November Completion Target*
The Project Manager of Reform Sport West Africa, Husseini Debga, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to completing the ongoing rehabilitation of Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos, Plateau State, by November 2026.
Debga disclosed this during an interview with SSI Media while providing an update on the progress of work at the stadium, revealing that the rehabilitation project has reached between 70 and 80 per cent completion.
According to him, significant progress has been recorded in the reconstruction of spectator stands, dressing rooms and other critical facilities, while efforts are being intensified to ensure the project is delivered within the agreed timeframe.
“So far, we have gone about 70 to 80 per cent. The seats are already coming in, and we have finished casting work on two opposite stands, Stand A and Stand C,” Debga explained.
He further disclosed that work on the players’ dressing rooms is nearing completion, with tiling and screeding already carried out, leaving electrical and mechanical installations as the major outstanding components.
“The dressing rooms are almost completed. The tiling and screeding have been done. What is left now is the electrical and mechanical fittings. The external cladding work on the grandstand is also ongoing,” he stated.
Speaking on concerns surrounding the November completion deadline earlier communicated by the company, Debga maintained that the target remains unchanged.
He explained that additional measures have been introduced to accelerate construction activities, including arrangements for workers to operate both during the day and at night.
“We are trying as much as possible to make sure we meet the timeframe. For the other stand we are currently working on, we have put measures in place to work morning and night so that we can meet the November deadline,” he said.
When pressed by SSI Media to give a definite assurance on whether the stadium would be ready by November, the project manager reiterated that the company had not shifted its completion target.
“The November deadline is what we are working towards. We have not shifted it. We are working towards meeting the November deadline,” Debga emphasised.
He expressed confidence in the technical expertise and capacity of Reform Sport West Africa to deliver a modern sporting facility that would meet expectations.
According to him, the company specialises in the rehabilitation and modernisation of sporting infrastructure, including football pitches, athletics tracks, spectator seating, roofing systems and other stadium facilities.
“Reform Sport is all about stadium rehabilitation. We bring old facilities back to life and transform them into modern sporting facilities. We handle stadium remodelling, pitches, tracks, seats, roofs and complete sports facilities,” he explained.
Debga added that the company’s operations extend beyond Nigeria, with international experience in sports infrastructure development.
On whether Reform Sport West Africa possesses the capacity to deliver the Rwang Pam Stadium project successfully, he expressed optimism.
“We will be able to deliver. If we didn’t have the capacity, we wouldn’t have been called upon to handle the project. They know we are capable, and we know we can deliver. We are going to deliver,” he assured.
The ongoing rehabilitation of Rwang Pam Township Stadium remains an important development for sports stakeholders in Plateau State, particularly football clubs, athletes and supporters who are eager to see the facility restored to a modern standard.
With November fast approaching, attention will now turn to whether the contractor can translate its reported 70 to 80 per cent progress into full completion within the promised timeframe.
SSI Media will continue to monitor developments at the stadium as the November 2026 completion deadline approaches.
