Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup: Three Times Champions, All Stars fc And Kere United Set The Ball Rolling As Kickoff Gets Date And All 64 Teams Grouped
The most successful team in the annual Adamu Yola Gombe South Unity Cup and the defending champions, All Stars football club of Kaltungo local government area of Gombe State will be aiming to win the trophy for keeps as they take on Kere United FC in the opening ceremony of this year’s edition slated for the 7th of November, 2026.
All Stars FC has won it 3 times. They won it in the first edition in 2015, 2017 and 2025.
With this Unity and peace promoting grassroots football tournament clocking a decade this year, the draws was conducted over the weekend in Gombe State as all the 64 teams were grouped.

According to the organizers, two best teams from each group will qualify to the knockout Round of 32. Hence, Kaltungo LGA will provide 12 teams due to the fact that they are hosting the highest numbers of teams. 30 teams will slug it out in Kaltungo.
Billiri local government, with the second local government with the highest number of teams, will provide 10 teams to the knockout stage. 18 teams will confront themselves from different groups.
Balanga local government area with 13 teams from there will provide 6 teams in the Round of 32, while Shongom local government area, with only 7 teams in attendance, will come up with only 4 teams to the Round of 32.
The final of this massive grassroots football tournament will be played on the 2nd of January, 2027.
