Rivers State Teqball Team Embarks On Trophy Tour After A Brilliant Outing At The 1st National Teqball League.
The board of the Rivers State Teqball Association (RIVTEQ) has embarked on a trophy tour following their successful outing at the maiden edition of the National Teqball League held in Aba, Abia State.
Rivers Whales Teqball team finished second overall after clinching two gold medals and one bronze out of the five categories of events competed for.
The tour began on Monday March 30th, with the presentation of the trophies to the chairman of the association, Mr. Halim Adebola Zaccah, in his office, following the arrival of the team from Aba.
The tour continued on Thursday April 2nd with the trophies moved over to the office of RIVTEQ’s Vice Chairman, Sunday Ehimen Agbonighale.
On Tuesday April 7th, the tour team stopped by to present the trophies to the Patron of RIVTEQ, Ambassador Paul Ngwaba, in his office.
Next up is a visit to the Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Sports, Comrade Emmanuel Ndah JP, where the trophies will be presented before the Rivers State Teqball team finally meets with the governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Sir Amaopusenibo Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS.
The first National Teqball League attracted teams from 18 States across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, as well as Ghana.
The States were Abia, Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Ondo, Oyo, Kaduna, Jigawa, Kwara, Gombe, Nasarawa, Kogi, Niger, Plateau and Ghana.
