*Plateau State Cricket Association Set to Host Inaugural Chairman’s Cup*
Jos, Plateau State – The Plateau State Cricket Association is set to stage the maiden edition of the Chairman’s Cup, a senior T-20 cricket tournament designed to strengthen competitive cricket and promote talent development across the state.
The historic competition will feature four teams battling for the coveted trophy in what organizers describe as the first tournament of its kind on the Plateau cricket scene.
According to the association, the introduction of the senior team T-20 tournament is part of efforts to enhance the performance of senior cricket teams, provide regular competitive opportunities, and further develop the sport within the state.
The two-day event is scheduled to hold from June 26 to June 27, 2026, at St. John’s College, Jos.
The announcement which was obtained by ssimedia247.com, was contained in a statement signed by the Plateau State Field Officer, Aliyu Magaji, on behalf of the Chairman of the Plateau State Cricket Association, Inusa Dayok Stephen.
Organizers expressed optimism that the tournament will contribute significantly to the growth of cricket in Plateau State and provide a platform for players to showcase their skills at a competitive level.
