One Goal Plateau Declares Support For Governor Mutfwang/Piyo 2027 Bid As Hon. Kwande Spearheads Visit To DG
A coalition of former footballers and stakeholders under the aegis of One Goal Plateau has declared its support for the 2027 re-election bid of Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.
The group made its position known during a courtesy visit to Sir Joseph Ari, Director-General of the Governor Mutfwang 2027 Campaign Organisation.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Plateau State Football Association (PFA), Hon. Sulaiman Yahaya Kwande, comprised former footballers and other stakeholders in the state’s football community.
Speaking during the visit, Hon. Kwande said the group decided to support Governor Mutfwang in recognition of what it described as his administration’s attention to football development and its engagement with sports stakeholders across the Plateau State.
According to Kwande, the football community remains an important constituency, with the Plateau Football Association having approximately 3,000 registered clubs across the state. We will engage our people in the football circle to the one direction.
He said the One Goal Plateau initiative was established to bring together former footballers and football stakeholders and to promote the interests and development of the game, particularly at the grassroots.
Receiving the delegation, Sir Joseph Ari expressed appreciation for the visit and the support conveyed by the group.
Ari acknowledged the contributions of former footballers from Plateau State to football in Nigeria and said their experience and contribution to the development of the sport remained important.
He further assured the delegation that football-related initiatives aimed at empowering young people would receive attention under the campaign, while commending the group for its engagement.
The visit also featured the presentation of a customised football jersey bearing the inscription “FOOTBALL GIDA GIDA” to Sir Joseph Ari by Hon. Sulaiman Yahaya Kwande.
The delegation also presented a ceremonial cap bearing the name “JOSEPH ARI”, in recognition of his role as patron of the group.
The One Goal Plateau initiative said it would continue to engage relevant stakeholders and advocate for greater attention to grassroots football development and the welfare of football stakeholders across the state.
