The Chairman of Jos South Local Government Council, Hon. Silas Patrick Dung, has congratulated Jos North LGC for qualifying to the final of the 2024 Plateau State Governor’s Cup despite watching his young team gallantly loosing in a match garnished with some brilliant soccer artistry.
Hon. Silas Patrick Dung who was always on ground to motivate his wards from the group stage to the semi final where his team still remains the highest scoring side, lost 2-1 to Jos North LGC Football Team in a tough and entertaining encounter yesterday at the New Jos Stadium.
In his words: “I must say it’s a match that lived up to expectations but we should also know that it’s a local derby that would have gone either way. I congratulate our neighbors, Jos North LGC Football Team. They played well and merit their qualification to the final. My boys threw everything they had into the match but they were just not lucky to convert some numerous chances that came their way. It’s a very interesting and entertaining match. I wish Jos North LGC Football Team the best in the final.”
It would be recalled that Jos South LGC Football Team is the team with the highest numbers of goals scored. They netted 10 goals in only 5 matches played.
Jos South LGC Football Team will confront Mikang LGC Football Team in the third place match, while Jos North LGC Football Team battles it out with Shendam LGC Football Team in the final on a date and venue yet to be officially made public by the Plateau State Football Association.
