In the need to reposition the sports sector in Plateau State, the Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Plateau State, Hon Musa Ashoms, on Thursday, April 3, 2025, inaugurated the Plateau State Cricket Association board and thirty-three (33) other boards at Ladi Musa Indoor Sports Hall, Rwang Pam Township Stadium. Jos.
Welcoming the board chairmen and guests, the Director of Sports, Plateau State Sports Council, Professor Ezra Gunen, said ‘with the inauguration of the sports associations, with the necessary encouragement and support, i believe the association members will live up to their billings and achieve the desired results for the various associations in the state’.
Prof Gunen, further congratulated them and charged the newly inaugurated chairmen and their members to ensure that they commit themselves to bringing back the lost glory of Sports in the state.
He thereafter urged youths in the state to embrace sports to better their lives, family and the State at large.
In his remark, after the inauguration, the Chairman, Mr Dayok Stephen Inusa, expressed his appreciation to the Plateau State Government and Sports Council, he said ‘its a thing of joy to be counted worthy to lead the Cricket Association on the Plateau, I assure the State Government. Sports Council and Cricket lovers that the game shall once again rise in the state.I equally use this opportunity to call on my board members to join hands together to raise the sport to an enviable position among the other sports in the state’.
