Mighty Jets Under-19 Football Team showed all and sundry that their emergence as the champions of the regular season of the TPD Youth League was no fluke as they went ahead to beat the best 4 of the league to emerge as champions of the Super 4.
After conquering Rayfield Athletic Club 4-3 on agreegate in a two legged semi final showpiece, the youthful Mighty Jets Under-19 Football Team went ahead to beat NLO Division One side, Plateau Jets Sports Club 3-1 at the final of the Super 4 yesterday at the New Jos Stadium to emerge champions and win two trophies on a bounce.
It would be recalled that Plateau Jets Sports Club had dispersed Relentless FA 4-1 on agreegate in the other semi final match.
At the final proper, witnessed by many that included some major football stakeholders on the Plateau, saw Mighty Jets Under-19 Team striker, Christian Botmang opened the floodgates with a super strike in the 31st minute.
In the resumption of the second half, midfield maestro, Yusuf Abdullahi scored a sreamer of a free kick that can make the duo of Ronaldo and Lionel Messi green with envy from 30yards to make it 2-0 in the 68th minute.
When Mighty Jets U-19 were shouting hallelujah thinking the match had already been won, Plateau Jets SC pointman, Damilola Isaac reduced the tally with a bullet of a left footed shot in the 85th minute to make it 2-1.
But second half substitute, Chibuike Innocent took the game beyond the reach of Plateau Jets SC when he netted the third goal in the 90th minute to make it 3-1.
Mighty Jets Under-19 Football Team, the double champions of The Plateau State Dream Youth League will be aiming for the treble when they confront Relentless Football Academy in the TPD Super Cup in January, 2026.
