SA To The Governor On Grassroots Sports Lauds Women Foitball But Has Reservations For The Men:
The Special Adviser to the Executive Governor of Plateau State on Grassroots Sports Development, Hon. Habila Hosea Mutla has commended the rapid growth of female football on the Plateau but frowned at the male category.
Hon. Habila Mutla, who represented the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang at the finals of the Plateau State Male and Female Federation Cup over the weekend, says: ” What I saw on Sunday during the FA Cup final matches, I will say there’s much improvement on the female side especially mighty Jets Mata fc, but on the Plateau united FC and that of Mighty Jets International fc male teams, there wasn’t any fierce of derby as it used to be, no fun fare.”
He concludes: “I must first and foremost commend his Excellency, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for supporting and giving grassroots sports development the conducive environment to grow and succeed. I will also commend the PFA headed by Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande for returning colour to the FA Cup on the Plateau, but there’s still room for improvement going forward.Much improvement from the organizers and to the various clubs.”
It would be recalled that Mighty Jets Mata fc won the female category of the Plateau State FA Cup, beating Plateau United Queens 3-0 at the final to lift the trophy, while Plateau United fc defeated Mighty Jets International FC 1-0 to win the male category and hence, carted home the giant gold plaited trophy.
The quartet will represent Plateau State at the national level at both the male and female categories.
