President Federation Cup: PFA Chairman Sets The Ball Rolling As He Charges Eventual State Representatives To Repeat The 1999 Feat
The Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Hon.(Dr) Prince Suleiman Yahaya Kwande has charged clubs that will eventually qualify to represent the State at the National level of the President Federation Cup to go for broke!
Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande gave this charge on Wednesday after giving the ceremonial kickoff of the 2026 Plateau State President Federation Cup between last year’s Runner’s Up, Mighty Jets Feeders and new entrant, Rayfield Athletic Club in which Mighty Jets Feeders won 1-0 to qualify to the Semi final.
In his words: “Both Plateau United fc and Mighty Jets Feeders showed some promises last year at the National level but lost by the whiskers at the quarter final and round of 16 respectively. We want our representatives to surpass last year’s feat. We want to bring the trophy to our supporting sports loving Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to atleast show appreciation. We last won this trophy way back in 1999 when Plateau United fc defeated then Iwuanyanwu Nationale 1-0 through Donatus Iloka strike.”
Plateau United fc last season lost 1-0 to Rangers fc in Abuja, while Mighty Jets Feeders Team lost 1-0 to Akwa United fc at the Round of 16 in Ayangba, Kogi State.
Mighty Jets Feeders yesterday defeated Rayfield Athletic Club 1-0 to move tk the semi final via a brilliant tap in by Kums Zachariah.
Plateau United Under-19 Team, who ousted Mighty Jets International FC at the quarter final last year before they met their Waterloo in Mighty Jets Feeders at the semi final, will confront Austin Amutu FA today at the New Jos Stadium by 2pm. The winner will qualify to the semi final.
