The Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Prince Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande has been commended for his insight in organising the Boys Brigade Grand Patron’s Cup even as one from another Faith.
This commendation was given by the Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Naa’nlang Daniel Gapyil
at the final of the maiden edition of the Plateau State Boys Brigade Battalion Football Competition organised by the FA Chairman in conjunction with the Speaker.
Rt Hon Naa’nlang showered encomiums on the Chairman for the idea which he also bought in ” I want to appreciate the PFA Chairman for this wonderful idea of the BB Grand Patron’s Cup, i saw the idea as an opportunity for the BB to gather on a social gathering to interact and showcase their God-given talent in Football, perhaps some scouts could see them”.
“For me it was a thing of joy that I needed to identify with where I was coming from and see that it gives the Boys an avenue to showcase their potentials and moreover coming from the State Football Chairman who is from another religion and this tells is that religion should not be something that divides us rather it should be a critical tool that unites us together. All these religions talk about peace, respect an dignity;so if we encourage our religious institutions to begin to ensure that those values that are being taught in our churches and mosques are encouraged among our youths , it will reflect in our social lives and all the things we do”.
The Speaker further maintained that idea that is associated not only with our Faith but with young people in social gathering that will take them away from roaming about or engaging in social vices, he is ready to participate fully.
He then congratulated the PFA Chairman,Prince Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, President, Plateau Boys Brigade and All the Battalions that participated in the tournament.
