The Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Hon. Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande has not stopped to commend the professionalism of football match Assessors on the Plateau, rating them as some of the best you can have around.
Hon. Kwande, who was appreciated the visit paid on him at the PFA Secretariat by the Assessors before they embarked on their journey to Abuja for the seminar, described the visit as a “Synergy” that will contributing in making his mandate of moving football in the State to another level see the light of the day.
It would be recalled that all the Plateau State Match Assessors currently been knocked to shape with the Seminar in Abuja, were on ground at the PFA Secretariat for the Chairman’s blessings.
They include: Baba Joshua Gottom(Plateau State Referees Chairman), Tony Ejim, Datom Yohanna, Chibuzo Udeh, Austin Eyeroli, Victoria Cuktur(FIFA Rtd).
Others are Alfred Saiki, Jibrin Kamga, and Noel Kamga.
The seminar is to acquaint the assessors of the new modifications of the laws of the game so as to assess the referees on the modern day football, and to be mentors of the referees, to also identify young referees who will be nurtured and projected for the CAF and FIFA competitions.
The NFF President, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau was at the seminar in Abuja and assured that he is going to introduce electronic gadgets into the league, which will include some young referees been sent for training on how to use it.
President Musa Gusau also said that the football Federation is working hard to introduce the VAR in our competitions.
He has instructed the chairmen of various councils to identify young referees and for training, he was very pleased with young referees training that was done last month and hoped that this trend will be a continued one and that he is going to support the referees.
On the issues of the league, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau appealed that the referees and assessors should put in their best to make the league interesting, and all that is due to them will be given to them.
The Seminar will come to an end today and the first batch of the referees will arrive the Federal Capital Territory today for medical and their fitness test will kickstart tomorrow after they must have had their own dose of seminar.
