The Chairman, Plateau State Football Association, Hon(Dr) Prince Suleiman Yahaya Kwande has heaped praises on the organizers of the Dele Jazzy Angwa Rukuba Peace Football Tournament, especially the sponsor, Bamidele Yusuf of Ferencvaros TC.
Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, who’s the special guest of Honour as the Father of the day and did the ceremonial official kick off in a final that saw Farinuun fc emerged champions by beating First Baptist Church football team 3‐1 on penalties, after a 0‐0 regulation time draw, says:
“It was a great honor and privilege to attend the Grand Finale of the Dele Jazzy Peace Tournament in Angwan Rukuba, a remarkable initiative dedicated to promoting peace, unity, youth engagement, and community development through sports.”
A visibly happy and impressed PFA Chairman, continues: “What touched me most was witnessing the resilience and determination of the people of Angwan Rukuba, who turned out in large numbers to support the event despite the painful experiences and trauma the community recently endured following the unfortunate gun attack. Their presence was not only encouraging but also a powerful demonstration of courage, solidarity, and the collective resolve to move forward stronger than before. The overwhelming turnout reaffirmed the fact that our people remain committed to peaceful coexistence, and community progress. It also highlighted the unifying power of sports as a vehicle for healing, reconciliation, and social integration, particularly in times when communities seek hope and restoration.”

Farinuun fc won the male category, while Lilac Squad fc won the female category after beating Relentless Queens FA on penalties at the final.
