The facilities for the hosting of the 2025 Nigeria University Games ,NUGA, by University of Jos will be fully ready in three weeks time.
This assurance was given by the Chief Technical officer, Reform Sports West Africa, Architect John Ewule at the Jerry Useni Sports complex, University of Jos.
According to Arc. Ewule, ‘Unijos is ready facility-wise, earlier the work was.slow because funding was late but since the funding improved, we have intensified the rate of work to meet the deadline which is the end of this month and be used for the games commencing on the 6th November, 2025’.
‘We are many contractors handling different projects but for our own side which are the football pitch, hockey and Cricket field and the tracks will surely be ready, you can see the we’re preparing the surface for the tracks to be laid next week, the football field is ready and so the hockey pitch, this is to tell you everything is working as envisaged with proper funding”.
On the standard of the facilities, he maintained that they are of high quality that will outlive the cost. He said ‘one of our mantra is our facilities outlive us, though nothing lasts forever but our name is at stake, thus we can’t compromise standard and we’ve agreed with the authorities to ensure the maintenance even after the games’.
That the facilities can be used in hosting the National Sports Festival if other facilities around the State will be used too.
The Chief Technical officer, assured contingents coming for the games that the City of jos is conducive for competition and winning laurels.
‘The state is hospitable, conducive for competition and winning laurels; the people are friendly and ultimately they will enjoy their stay in Jos.
