Director-General of the National Sports Commission, NSC, Bukola Olopade has reiterated that there is no any rift or misunderstanding between him, the NSC Chairman, Shehu Dikko and NFF president, Ibrahim Gusau.
Mr. Olopade made the clarification during a press conference at the ongoing National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State.
The DG said the clarification became necessary following an unsubstantiated report on media suggesting that there is an ongoing misunderstanding between the three parties.
In the words of Olopade: “it is so shameful for such a journalist to write something so narrow-minded, Shehu Dikko and I are working to create a system that is production oriented and not consumption oriented, that’s why we have bided for the Commonwealth Games. We are a family, we are focus driven and we are desirous of bringing Nigeria to the World Cup, there are no issues between Gusau, Sanusi, Dikko and I.”
The DG also praised Delta State for always staging specular Games whenever they are called upon while also revealing that the next host of the National Youth Games will be announced on the 7th of September, 2025.
