Maichibi Football Club of Pankshin are the Champions of the first edition of the Plateau State NLO Clubs Pre-season Tournament.
The Pankshin boys, with a hundred percent record through to the final defeated a resilient Jos Dream Big FC 5-4 on penalties after the regulation time score ended 1-1.
Aminu Adam put Jos Dream Big FC in front in the 21st minute, while Mungak Silas equalized for Maichibi FC in the 92nd.
Meanwhile, this maiden edition of the Plateau State NLO Pre-season tournament, has been described as a family affair.
This assertion was made by the immediate past General Manager of Plateau Utd, Pius Hemwan, at the end of the Tournament’s final match between Maichibi Utd FC, Pankshin and Jos Dream Big, which ended 1 all in regulation time and Maichibi Fc winning the trophy 5-4 through the lottery of penalties.
Mr Henwan, thereafter assured the players of picking the good ones he has spotted to bigger clubs outside the state.
‘There is no winner, no looser, both of you are winners, this match is a family affair. Don’t play to remain here, this pitch you’ve played on is a Premiership ground, so you must be disciplined to make it to the highest level. I equally want to assure you that the exceptional players I’ve seen will be taken to bigger clubs because both team parade good players”.
