After their goals scoring spree was brought to an abrupt end by neighbors, Plateau Jets Sports Club,where they lost 1-0 to them last week, the youthful Mighty Jets U-19 team found their scoring boots on Sunday, as they beat visiting Kwara Football Academy 3-2 at the New Jos Stadium.
Mighty Jets U-19 hitman, Tochukwu Ibedu got a hatrick in the energy sapping match in the 11th, 13th and 81st minute to take his goals haul to seven in the league thus far.
Kwara Football Academy, who were trailing 2-0 in the first half, got two goals in the second half before Tochukwu Ibedu put an icing on the cake in the 81st minute to end the end to end encounter 3-2 in favour of the youthful Mighty Jets U-19 team.
It would be recalled that Mighty Jets U-19 team, before been beaten by Plateau Jets, have always scored more than 1 goal even in defeat. The youthful Girgin baba boys lost 2-3 to Kano Pillars in Kano, beat Grassroots Football Academy 5-1 in Jos, beat the same Grassroots Football Academy at their backyard in Benin Kebbi 3-1, before beating Kwara Football Academy 3-2 yesterday.
The young Mighty Jets U-19 team will on Tuesday tackle Joecas Football Academy before taking on Plateau State President’s Federation Cup defending Champions, Plateau United FC in the last quarter final match on Thursday by 3pm at the New Jos Stadium.
