The medals came late on Sunday evening. First, from Athletics, where Gang James Boyi, settled for Silver, narrowly missing the GOLD for Delta to take home in the 3000m Steeplechase race.With events concluded in Chess, Solomon Wudiri of Plateau, managed to squeeze out Bronze in the Board 4 contest. The only medal for the Chess team.The male Volleyball team, PLATEAU ROCKS continued their dominance after coming from behind to subdue Kano 3 – 1 in the quarter finals clash, to book a semi final date with Ondo, on Monday.In Hockey, Plateau Queens were unlucky in the quarter finals encounter against Kaduna. The team was edged out via penalty shootout after a stalemate at regulation time. The team will have to redeem itself in the third place match against Lagos, also, on Monday, by 10am.Scrabble, Kickboxing, Table Tennis and Squash, all have hope, if they are able to convert their chances in their various remaining matches into fortune.Events have been concluded in Powerlifting, Badminton and Chess, as they look forward to another Festival in 2026.Wrestling will join the fray and it is expected that the events will be rounded up on Thursday.Plateau State has so far won 29 medals consisting of 6 Gold, 5 Silver and 18 Bronze.EVENTS LINED UP FOR MONDAY 26TH MAY, FOR PLATEAU.1. KICKBOXING will continue by 9am at Baptist High school.5. TABLE TENNIS and SQUASH will converge at the Alake Sports center by 9am.6. ATHLETICS: 1,500M male category, will start by 6pm at the MKO Stadium.7. WRESTLING is by 8am at NYSC Camp.8.
