The Director of Sports, Plateau State, Professor Ezra Gunen has called out all the Chairmen Sports Association to be on the Plateau to emulate the Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Hon Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande.
Professor Gunen said this over the weekend when the PFA Chairman, Hon Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande paid a visit on the Plateau State Under-15 team preparing for the regional qualifiers for the football event of the National Youth Games 2024 in Asaba, Delta State.
In Professor Gunen’s words: “Having the likes of Hon. Dr. Suleiman Kwande at the affairs of the PFA is a blessing. If all other Chairmen of the Sporting Associations are like Honourable Kwande, I think the Sports Council can go to sleep. He comes around, watches his territory and builds his territory. We are very grateful.”
It would be recalled that all the Chairmanship positions and board of all the Sports Associations were dissolved last Month, awaiting fresh elections in two months time.
In response, Hon. Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, who was there to assist the team with balls, training bibs, shinguards for all the players, cones,etc, thanked the Director of Sports for fatherly overseeing sports to its promise land on the Plateau, said, “for success to be recorded in sports, all hands must be on deck. And all these equipments brought is just my own little contribution in motivating the team to do better and go for glory in Asaba later in the year.”
Hon. Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande had earlier the same Saturday visited the Plateau State Referees Council at their annual fitness training test in preparation for the 2024/2025 league season, where he bought them drinks for optimum performance.
The Plateau State Referees Council, via their Chairman, Joshua Gotom, commends the PFA Chairman for the visit.
