It was a huge gathering at the Government Secondary School, Yelwa, in Shendam local government area as almost half of the community came out to watch Plateau State NLO Division One champions, Mighty Jets Feeders fc take on their local side, Cassava football club in a friendly encounter.
Mighty Jets Feeders, who are engaging in series of friendly matches to prepare themselves for the NLO Division One League playoff, got more than they bargained for as the mammoth crowd and the deafening environment was more than enough to unsettle any visiting team.
The Cassava fc team didn’t disappoint their numerous fans that came out enmass to support them by pilling pressure upon pressure but was repelled by the very strong Mighty Jets Feeders defence led by the goalkeeper, Ozor Ifeanyi, who had a great outing.
But after absorbing the pressure and Mighty Jets Feeders decided to come out attacking, the centre referee issued a red card to Mighty Jets player in the 54th minute in what he called “lack of respect “.
The very interesting and explosive encounter , massively watched by a jam-packed and cheering Yelwa Shendam crowd, ended: Cassava football club 0 Mighty Jets Feeders 0.
It would be recalled that Mighty Jets Feeders visited Dawaki in Kanke local government area before the commencement of the Jos Center of the NLO Division One League, where they defeated the local side there 2-1, the first time any professional side will be visiting that community.
This encounter in Yelwa Shendam, is also the first time a professional football team will be visiting.
Mighty Jets Feeders is preparing for the NLO Division One League playoff after emerging winners of the Jos Center where they beat Plateau United Under-19 Team at the final 5-4 on penalties after the regulation time score ended 0-0.
