Just Like “Oliver Twist”, Records Breaking Mighty Jets Female Team, Commend The Governor But…..
Champions, Plateau State Women FA Cup, Mighty Jets Mata, have sang the praises of the Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to the high heavens, after an anonymous aide of his showered some financial gifts on them after beating highly rated Plateau United Queens 3-0 at the final of the Plateau State FA Cup.
Speaking exclusively to www.ssimedia247.com.ng, Assistant General Manager of Mighty Jets International FC, who also doubles as the Coordinator of Mighty Jets women’s team, Mighty Jets Mata, Salisu Nakande, “I must at this junction thank the Executive Governor of Plateau State for the financial assistance through one of his aides who does not want name to be mentioned. That gift is a motivating factor to these girls who came here in high spirit.”
Salisu Nakande, who’s among the pioneers of Airtel Rising Stars U-16 for Boys and Girls from 2011 to 2015, where team Jos Boys won the second edition in Lagos 2012 and represented Nigeria at the Pan African Championship in Nairobi, Kenya, also calls on the Governor to still do more: “I want to appeal to the sports loving Governor H E Barr Caleb Mutfwang to motivate Mighty Jets Mata so that they can farther than last year’s President Federation Cup, where the team got to the Round of 16 at Natiional level. These are promising young girls and that’s why iam giving my total concentration to building this Mighty Jets Mata , so that we can develop more women footballers on the Plateau and Nigeria at large. i am into women football since 2008 after my Basic Coaching course in Lagos, if u can see this is the first time in the history of football on the Plateau, that a female team will win a match at the National level and also reach the Round of 16, so this Mighty Jets Mata is a record making team. These achievement encourage me a lot to commit myself 100%. I am soliciting on behalf of these young girls to get more support from H E Barr Caleb Mutfwan so that they supercede last year’s achievement, which i believe by the grace of God they will achieve.”
On her own part, the Captain of Mighty Jets Mata fc, Wesley Longret Polycarp, “May God bless the Governor that sent us money through his aide, we now know that we have a father who is ready to listen to our cries and that singular act is our motivating factor even as we are in Abuja to play our first President Federation Cup.”
Wesley Longret Polycarp concludes: “I want our two Coaches to be sponsored for Coaching courses, and i want the governor to improve on our Welfare, we need training facilities; and above all; we also want to be paid salaries like our counterparts in Plateau United Queens fc. There should also be camp for players coming from other local government areas of the state and beyond.”
