PFA Chairman Hails Fans Turnout, Enjoins Them To Do More As Plateau United Look For A Top 4 Finish
The Chairman of Plateau State Football Association, Hon(Dr) Prince Suleiman Yahaya Kwande has lauded the turnout of football fans on the Plateau, saying is a sign that all is now well with the State security-wise and otherwise, but still enjoin them to do more, especially for Plateau United fc today.
Hon Suleiman Yahaya Kwande let this out during the encounter between “home team”, Wikki Tourists fc of Bauchi and visiting Elkanemi Warriors fc at the New Jos Stadium in which Wikki Tourists fc won 2-1.
In his words: “Who would have expected a turnout for a match like this not involving Plateau United? This has clearly shown that Jos and Plateau State as a whole has rediscover itself as the home of peace and tourism, kudos to our working Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang. ”
He concludes: “Look at the crowd! It’s a beauty to behold. Just as Oliver Twists, am calling on football lovers all across Plateau State to come enmass, double what is seen here today, as our darling team, Plateau United Football Club take on Niger Tornadoes at this same Stadium on Sunday by 4pm. With the way things are going on with Plateau United now, under the tutelage of Coach Gbenga Ogunbote, top 4 finish is within our reach.”
Plateau United fc are currently placed 12th on the league table with 36pts from 28 matches played, while visiting Niger Tornadoes are placed 13th, just below Plateau United, with 35pts from 27 matches played.
A win for Plateau United fc over Niger Tornadoes today, will take them to the 9th position, provided the likes of Warri Wolves, Barau fc and Katsina United falter.
