As Mighty Jets Under-19 Team, Champions of both the maiden edition of the Plateau State Dream Youth League and the Champions of the TPD Super 4 take on second best of the league last season, Relentless Football Academy, today, 30th of January, 2026, in the Super Cup to usher in the 2026 season, the league organisers have hit the ground running to make the league better and more interesting this season by patnering with some business organizations.
In a hold no bare conversation with the league media patners, SSI Media, the Chairman of the TPD Youth League, Johnson Joseph goes thus: “It gives me great joy to reflect on the success of the first edition of the TPD Youth League. What began like a vision to provide a platform for young players to showcase their talents has now grown into a reality that has inspired hope, passion, and excellence across our football community.”
He continues: “Let me specially congratulate Mighty Jets Under-19 Team for emerging as both the League Champions and Super 4 Winners. Their performance embodies the spirit of resilience, teamwork and determination that this league is built upon. I also extend my warm congratulations to every team that participated, because together, you all made history. ”
Johnson Joseph reiterates: “One of the standout developments ahead of the 2026 campaign, which will be preceded by the Super Cup between double Champions, Mighty Jets Under-19 Team and Relentless FA, today, 30th of January at the Bukuru Mini Stadium, is the expansion of the league from eight to ten clubs, reflecting the league’s steady growth, increasing competitiveness, and rising interest among football development institutions.TPDYL continues to strengthen its foundation through impactful partnerships. The league proudly welcomes new collaborators such as *Super Camp Africa*, bringing elite football development programs, and *Ecobank*, whose support underscores confidence in the league’s vision and sustainability. These join long-standing partners including *SSI Media, Plateau Football Association, Centerkick, Joecas Sport Wears (JSW), Player Profile Manager (PPM), Football Path X*, and others who have played vital roles in the league’s growth over previous seasons.”
He concludes: “Another major milestone for the 2026 season is the introduction of *live streaming of league matches*, a move aimed at increasing exposure for participating clubs and players while giving fans, scouts, and stakeholders wider access to the competition. In an exciting addition to the league calendar, the *TPDYL Cup* will debut in *May 2026*. The Top 8 league clubs will enter the competition at the knockout stage, intensifying competition and adding new stakes to the season. The top two clubs from the Cup will earn automatic inclusion in the following league season, while the bottom two clubs from the league will transition to compete exclusively in the Cup tournament.”
