*__* The newly introduced Plateau State Boys Brigade Grand Patron’s Cup has been described as a Tournament that everyone is a winner.This was the take of the Plateau Football Association, PFA, Chairman, Prince Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, the brain behind the tournament, at the Boys Brigade Headquarters Field in Jos, venue of the Opening ceremony of the Plateau State Boys Brigade Grand Patron’s Cup.Prince Dr Kwande made this statement after the first game between Jos North North Battalion and Dadin Kowa, which ended 6-0 in favour of Dadin Kowa. “In this tournament, there is no looser nor winner, everyone is a winner, so there shouldn’t be any hard feelings from any battalion that did not come tops in any match’.He further stated: “the main reason for this tournament is to further foster unity amongst the youths, and the Boys Brigade battalions on the Plateau “our aim is to make it a Zonal tournament then National. “When we are done with this on the Plateau here, I will talk to my colleagues in other States of the Federation to see if they can start it so that we can synergize and see if we can have a zonal tournament and from there a national tournament.”Before the opening ceremony, branded jerseys were distributed to various participating battalions. The PFA Chairman, went further to laud individuals that has made this tournament a reality: “I must appreciate the sponsor of this great and unity promoting event, the Honourable Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Naanlong Daniel Gapyil. He’s such a man that takes delight in promoting peace by getting the youths engaged.”Hon. Kwande concludes: “The coming in of this tournament is effortlessly. It’s a proposal that was so seamless. I put it forward to the President of Boys Brigade on the Plateau, Barr. Nenfwang David Yilji, and he instantly accepts it.
