The Executive Chairman of Jos East Local Government Area, Hon. Chief Markus Useini Nyam, has promised to give the 2025 Plateau State Governor’s Cup, a befitting and grand reception when they play host to the opening ceremony of the annual football event put forward to promote peace, unity and discover hidden talents.
Honourable Marcus Nyam made this known when the Plateau State Football Association Board led by its Chairman, Hon(Dr) Prince Suleiman Yahaya Kwande paid a visit on him to officially brief as the host of this year’s Plateau State Governor’s Cup tagged: Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang Solidarity.
In Hon. Marcus Nyam words: “I appreciate the honour bestowed on my Local Government to host this prestigious tournament. I know the good work the Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development who is a son of the soil is doing must have made the PFA to bring the opening ceremony to our local government.”
He concludes: “I assure you that the opening ceremony will be a huge success and an event the football family on the Plateau will live not to forget for good as we will bring our hospitality in Jos East to the fore.”
The Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Hon. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande on his part, after detailing him on what is expected from the Jos East Chairman as host of the opening ceremony, appreciates the professionalism of Hon. Markus Nyam after which he presented the official match ball to him as a contact of partnership.
The opening ceremony of this year’s Plateau State Governor’s Cup now tagged as the Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang Solidarity Cup will see last edition semi finalists, Jos South LGA battle it out with Riyom LGA in Angware, the Headquarters of Jos East local government area on Monday, 17th of November, 2025 by 2pm.
