The quarter finals of the Inter-security Agencies Football Tournament lived to its bidding as a knock-out phase, with teams showcasing their desires to pick the semi final tickets with nine goals scored.
The Opening match for the day was between the Federal Fire service and Immigration service Fc with the Federal Fire drawing the first blood through big striker Gideon Bewarang in the 10th min. The half could not produce more goals as both teams began to be cautious. However, the Immigration team got the equaliser in the 60th min from the spot by Jaafar Surah. The game then went into the lottery of penalties with Immigration scoring their 5 kicks while Federal Fire missed one ,with scores ending in 4-5.
Furthermore, the Army Rhino, got one past the Correctional service guys with a flocking header by Damian Adikwu to seal their victory, marching into the semi final alongside Immigration Fc.
The star match of the day was a contest of supremacy between the Police Ambassadors and DSS which drew many fans to the match, but ended been a match of Jackson Josiah against the Secret service men who had no answers to the questions asked by the speed of Jackson Josiah, who got a haul(4 goals) in the 10′, 16′, 75′ and 77th min past the keeper of DSS with Bala Peter getting one for himself in the 67’mins.
Also, the NSCDC were sent out at the 82’min by Ibrahim Aguiyi in the 82’min with a wide jubilation by the crowd.
The Victorious teams now set the tone for the semi final matches with the Immigration team, Army Fc, Police Ambassadors Fc and Operation Rainbow slugging it out in the semi finals.
