With Love From Rwanda, PFA Chairman Relishes The 1st Pre-Match Meeting At The Secretariat After More Than 10 Years Absence As He Congratulates Plateau United For Being The First To Give Their Fans Joy:
History was made over the weekend as the refurbished Plateau State Football Association Secretariat played host to a top league Pre-Match Meeting in more than ten years.
The PFA Chairman, Hon. Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, following proceedings of the Pre-Match Meeting in Jos from far away Kigali, said: “I’m very happy and fulfilled that the PFA Secretariat is now befitting enough to host the pre-match meeting of the elite league of Nigeria football. It’s so much of a slap on the face taking pre-match meetings to “beer parlor” instead of the headquarters of football in the State. And immediately we came onboard, our first priority was to put the PFA Secretariat into a very good and befitting shape. I’m just so glad that the home of football is now home to all football activities”
On the match proper of which Plateau United FC defeated visiting Katsina United FC 1-0, Hon. Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande said: “I gathered that Plateau United FC scored the first goal this season, with this, something strong within me tells me that Plateau United FC, having made their fans to be the first to celebrate in the Country after the first goal was scored, it’s a sign that the club will surely bring joy to its teeming fans at the end of the season.”
It would be recalled that Olawale Doyeni scored the first goal of the season when Plateau United beat Katsina United 1-0 via a penalty in the 23rd minute.
Rabiu Ali and Clinton Jephta got the first brace of the season after scoring two goals each for both Kano Pillars and Enyimba fc of Aba in their 3-0 and 1-3 win respectively.
