2026 Renewed Hope Unity Cup: “We Will Work Together To Make This Great Event A Success” SWAN President, Isaiah Kemje Benjamin
President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Isaiah Kemje Benjamin has thrown his weight behind the forthcoming 2026 Renewed Hope Unity Cup after been decorated at the SWAN Secretariat, Package A, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
A visibly impressed SWAN President, alongside the Association Secretary, Ikenna Victor Okonkwo, said: “This is a project of national interest never seen in the Country. A football tournament that will involve all the 774 local government areas at a go with all these mouthwatering incentives where the coaches as well are not left out? We will surely work together to make this great event a huge success.”
SWAN President continues: “This is the type of event we need that will not only get the youths positively engaged, but also make them fulfil their dreams of playing at the bigger stage of which this national grassroots tournament will give to them. I can assure you that all SWAN members across the Country will surely give their best in making this national project a success.”
Responding, the brain behind this national project, Hon(Dr) Prince Suleiman Yahaya Kwande, Director, Cornerflag Connection Ltd, says: “We are here to decorate you, the national leader of SWAN, as a Patron of this tournament that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda for your experience to be brought into play and let the whole world know that this is a Nigeria that’s focusing on youth empowerment, unity and grassroots sports development.”

Nigeria ; has a clear focus on grassroots engagement. The tournament will offer more than just competition, it will include provisions for equipment, welfare packages and allowances for players and officials, along with a structured coaching development program to train over 100 coaches across the country. This ensures that the competition is not only a sustainable initiative with long-term benefits for Nigerian football.
