Yakmut Backs Plateau United for Continental Ticket, Appeals For Fans’ Prayers
Chairman of Plateau United Football Club, HRH Alhassan Yakmut, has expressed confidence that the Jos-based side will secure at least a continental ticket in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Speaking exclusively to FAKS MEDIA on Thursday, the soft-spoken football administrator said he must first use this opportunity to thank the Executive Governor of the state his Excellency Governor Caleb Mutfwang for approving the renewal of the Contract of the Head Coach Gbenga Ogunbote ahead of the new Season.
“We have renewed the contract of our Head Coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, and I can tell you he has already started work by inviting identified players the club intends to recruit. Plateau United will take a different shape before the beginning of the new season,” Yakmut said.
The Plateau United chairman expressed optimism that the club would enjoy a successful campaign and urged supporters to continue standing behind the team.
“I want to appeal to our supporters to continue praying for and supporting the team throughout the season. With their prayers and unwavering support, I believe the Caleb Mustang Boys will secure a continental ticket at the end of the 2026/27 NPFL season,” he said.
Yakmut reiterated that the club’s management is committed to building a competitive squad capable of challenging for honours and returning Plateau United to the continental stage.
