The founder/CEO of Dreamland Football Academy, Ndudi Edede has for the first time breaks down all to be known about the Dreamland Abia State Under-19 Cup that has had young players taken abroad for their football professional career:
OUR TOURNAMENT STORY: HARDWORK, DISCIPLINE, CONSISTENCY AND SACRIFICE
Our youth football recruitment championship began as the Dreamland Cup on August 8, 2013, at AJS Umuebulungwu in Ukwa West Local Government Area of Abia State, Nigeria. The three categories was won by David Moore Football Academy (U15), New Generation Football Academy (U17) and Spartans Football Club (U20). Driven by a passion for youth development and talent discovery, we embarked on a journey to create opportunities for young footballers through sports.
As our vision expanded, the tournament was rebranded as the Dreamland–Embassy of Hungary Cup on November 6, 2018, in Abuja. On March 23, 2024, it was further reviewed and renamed the Dreamland–Abia State–Embassy of Hungary Cup, reflecting the growing support and collaboration of key stakeholders. On November 11, 2025, the competition adopted its current identity as the Dreamland–Abia State U-19 Cup won by New Generations Football Academy.
Today, we proudly prepare for the 2nd Edition of the Youth Talent Hunt Football Tournament, scheduled to take place from July 6–10, 2026, at Enyimba Stadium, Aba, Abia State, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Who will be the Champions???
Our journey has not been without challenges. We have experienced setbacks and disappointments, but each obstacle taught us valuable lessons. Through discipline, consistency, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment, we have continued to pursue our mission of empowering talented youth, creating employment opportunities, and promoting social and economic development through sports.
We sincerely thank God Almighty for His guidance and blessings. We also express our profound gratitude to His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti OFR Executive Governor of Abia, Sir Nwaobilor Nwadinma Ananaba Honourable Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, the Embassy of Hungary in Abuja, the Nigeria Football Federation, Trust Gelei Es Tarsa kft, and all our sustainable partners whose support and belief in our vision have made this journey possible.
