What started like whispers has developed into one of the biggest exclusive stories that is set, to not only cause chaos but with it, comes a big earthquake that could shatter the walls of the human ears, break stony hearts and leave many bedridden from the devastating destruction that will follow.
The next few months will no longer be business as usual in Nigeria football. The ugly memories that has tormented us following many years of failures, heartbreaks and disappointments, is about to disappear as the thick dark clouds will soon unveil a tomorrow full of hope and light.
For this to happen, there must be sacrifices and casualties. Brothers will betray brothers, friends will offend friends, men will put aside religious or tribal sentiments to obey the last orders and that is when the Tsunami itself will start.
Is it true that the NFF presidency has been zoned to the South West? Is it true that a former Lagos state FA Chairman has been handpicked by the gods to lead this new order? If that is the truth, then what will be the role of a certain Katsina state football Association chairman in all of these.
*The Billionaire Effect*
About this period, four years ago, a strong politician with deep roots in Katsina state, went out of his ways to negotiate peace with the various warring factions in Nigeria football. These man spent his hard earned money, put his reputation and name on the line as he negotiated with some of the most notorious enemies of the game, that have spent years tormenting Nigeria football.
His efforts yielded fruits and paved the way for the September 30th NFF elections that went ahead despite a court order and then saw the emergence of Ibrahim Gusau as NFF president.
After Gusau’s victory in the polls, what followed was several days, weeks and months of intense lobbying and negotiations. The Katsina state football Association powerhouse Hon. Aminu Kurfi Balele, felt he gave so much in terms of financial and moral support to the present NFF president, before and during the elections and therefore deserves a rich payback that has to come in the form of a juicy appointment.
He really was not asking for anything big. He wanted to be chairman of the NFF technical sub committee but was snubbed and that singular action, made him retire into his hallow shell.
A very passionate supporter of football, suddenly lost interest in a sport he loves so much. He was no longer seen at public gatherings and was no longer traveling with the Super Eagles for international engagements because he felt betrayed by his kinsmen. This is a man that at one time, singlehandedly rented a private jet for the NFF to airlift the Super Eagles to an important AFCON Qualifying match.
Four years after, as sworn enemies sharpen their swords in readiness for what promises to be another bloody NFF Election, the chosen one from Lagos state has abandoned his nest in the heart of Victoria Island Lagos, to settle in a beautiful tenth in the heart of the federal capital territory, very close to the seat of powers, from where, he embarks on daily pilgrimage to Aso Villa, the National Sports Commission and the National Assembly where his anointed Vice president is a member of the federal house of representative.
*The Dirty Game*
This coup, according to very reliable sources was plotted long ago. It is a well rehearsed script that will take full effect from the month of July. The orchestrators of this plan are not looking to spare anyone. They have promised that heads will roll and it is not a case of just one or two heads. This coup that will come in the form of a full blown Tsunami, might consume everyone.
A list of well investigated crimes allegedly committed by chieftain of the present NFF board are now documented before the various anti graft agencies who in the last few months, have invited officials of the NFF to their office for ocassionsl questioning and investigation. These agencies now have a dossier that will be handed over to FIFA and CAF while a copy will be sent to all relevant authorities and to the NFF gods, with a subtle advice to resign.
This strategy was last used in 2014, when the then NFF president Aminu Maigari, whom, despite his influence and connections in the Villa at that time, was advised against his will to step down and he obeyed the last order without any objection.
This time, it is going to be even more brutal as the forces against this NFF board are too intelligent and will not succumb easily to any threat of a possible FIFA ban.

Meanwhile, as the euphoria that will greet this Tsunami begin to gather storm, there is yet a bigger surprise ahead, that can be least imagined. That is the shocker that will leave tongues wagging. A big name is silently waiting for the storm to settle before publicly announcing his intentions. While he waits on the fence, he keeps emphasizing that he will not run except he is prompted to do so.
Apart from him, there are two other interested candidates whose identities will soon be made public. As for now, the football family is patiently looking forward to the next few months, waiting to see how many persons will be consumed by what promises to be a devastating Tsunami.
