Dr Mathew Sylvester Kwarpo Uncovers Plans By The Executive And Legislative Arms As It Concerns Sports In Mangu Local Government
Member representing Mangu South Constituency in the Plateau State House of Assembly, Dr Matthew Sylvanus Kwarpo, has reeled out every plans by the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang and the House of Assembly to make Mangu local government area and Plateau State at large a doyen of sports.
The lawmaker , who disclosed this during the final of the 2026 Barrister Caleb Mutfwang Under-13 Governor’s Cup, said that the Plateau State Government had already approved projects aimed at boosting sports development in the local government area, including plans for a modern stadium and improved sporting facilities.
In his words: “His Excellency has already approved projects that will be executed in Mangu Local Government. We are going to have a very good stadium and other facilities that will help sports continue to thrive,” .
Dr Kwarpo also pledged continued legislative support for sports development across Plateau State, emphasizing the importance of policies and laws that encourage sporting activities.
“As a representative of the people and a former Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Sports, we will continue to support sports development in Plateau State. We will ensure that laws promoting sporting activities are encouraged,” he said.
He commended the Plateau State Football Association and the Governor of Plateau State for supporting sports development and celebrated Mangu Local Government’s emergence as champions in the Under-13 category.
“Today everyone is happy that Mangu Local Government emerged number one in the Under-13 category. We thank God for this achievement,” he concluded.
Dr Kwarpo further assured supporters that Mangu would also emerge victorious whenever the senior category competition is held, expressing confidence that the local government would defeat neighbouring Bokkos.
