Mighty Jets Under-19 Team shows their supremacy in the Plateau State Dream League, winning the season opener Super Cup, by beating Relentless FA to sweep all the trophies available in the TPD 2025 season to their trophies cabinet.
In the Super Cup match played over the weekend to usher in the 2026 TPD League season, last season double Champions, Mighty Jets Under-19 Team won the 3rd trophy on a bounce, beating Relentless FA 2-1.
Relentless Football Academy’s Jephta David drew the first blood in the 33rd minute via penalty after Mighty Jets defender handled the ball in the 18-yard box.
Freeman Mmiri drew level for Mighty Jets in the 74th minute, before Mighty Jets hitman, Prince Gobum got the winning goal via a long range shot in the 82nd minute to end the end to end encounter 2-1.
A visibly happy and fulfilled Chairman of the League, Joseph Johnson, goes thus: “This is what TP stands for: returning people’s passion to grassroots football. Look out the turnout, young and old, male and female turning out enmass to see a grassroots game like this. We extend our sincere appreciation to Mighty Jets Under-19 and Relentless FA for honouring the game with professionalism, passion and respect. Both sides played a vital role in making the occasion memorable, from their commitment on the pitch to their conduct off it.”
He went further to state the essence of the Super Cup: “Beyond the football, the Super Cup stands as a celebration of community and purpose. 2026 Plateau State Dream League is officially scheduled to kick off on the 19th of February, 2026.
