The Sponsor of the Arc. Davou Pam Jos North Annual Peace and Unity Football Tournament, Architect Davou Pam, has said that the tournament which is in its 4th year running will have its women version as well.
Speaking to journalists after the final of this year’s event that saw Young Stars FC of Tudun Wada beating Living Stone fc of Odus 2-0 to emerge champions, Architect Davou reiterates the importance of having the women version too: “Promoting and maintaining peace is the involvement of all and sundry. The essence of this tournament is to promote peace, unity and positively engage the youths, I just feel that it shouldn’t be an all male thing, we need carry our women along too. Many players have been discovered on this Tudun Wada field that are playing professional football both home and abroad now. It will be a thing of joy to have our girls do same too.”
Architect Davou Pam, who was live on the award winning radio programme on PRTV Peace 90.5fm, Total Football Extra on Sunday, concludes: “It’s always spirit uplifting seeing people of different religion, tribe and political affiliates come together under one umbrella. I won’t stop this tournament by the grace of God.”
