At the close of events on day 2 of the ongoing National Youth Games, Plateau secured its first medal of the games through Onanefe Samuel in Karate after fighting his way through team Abia, Kwara and Anambra, to reach the finals which he lost to his opponent from Delta, therefore settling for Silver
Earlier, the male football team emerged victorious against the team from Adamawa in an all action packed encounter, beating them by a goal to nothing
other results in Karate had Precious Wazari, who won her first fight but was eventually knocked out of contest in the +47 kg female category.
In Weightlifting, Dachollom Jato finished 7th in the +60 class after lifting 67 snatch and 75 jack
Also, Joy Emmanuel lost 2-1 to her rival from the FCT in the round of 16
Hostilities will continue today as more sports will be involved.
