Coach Donald Orhungul of Flight Fc of Gboko, has described the President Federation cup play-off between Technobat FC, Jalingo,Taraba State and Flight Fc at the Jos Intl Stadium as a good game that his team really prepared for and we’re not disappointed.
Coach Orhungul, said while responding to the victory, that “we expected that the match will be tough though we really prepared for it but after getting the opener in the 10min, my boys slacked which led to the equaliser in the 40min. We came back in the second half as I kept urging my players on and eventually got the penalty that gave us the win’
Coach Orhungul, further praised his boys for the beautiful display as he assured of getting over his next opponent in the round of 36 and advance to the round of 16.
In his response, Coach Valentine Atiri of TechnobatFC, showed his displeasure on the final outcome but gave kudos to both teams for their professionalism.
Coach Atiri,a medical practitioner and Director of Physiotherapy at the Taraba State Specialist Hospital, Jalingo, maintained that “My team played well, we had our chances but failed to utilise them and our opponent took their own chances. Though they were not better than us”.
Dr Atiri assured of a better outing in the next Federation cup, as he thought Flight Fc will massacre them but his team played better.
His captain, Chamewe Atiri, had a different opinion as he maintained that his team did not really played well to deserve the win.Also, the winning captain, Christopher Selu expressed his delight in his teams’ advance into the round of 36 as he declared their intention of winning the trophy.
It would be recalled that Flight Fc of Gboko, Benue State defeated Technobat FC of Jalingo 2-1 to proceed into the round of 36 of the 2025 President Federation cup in a match played at the New Jos Stadium, Zaria Road.
