It was celebration galore yesterday by Joecas Football Academy fraternity after recording their first points of a 90mins encounter in the ongoing talents unearthing N-Youth Under-19 League Cup.
Joecas FA, who before their hard-earned 1-0 victory over 6th placed Plateau Jets Sports Club, lost 14 games out of 16 in a bounce, with the only 3points gotten in a walkover against Grassroots Football Talents Developers Academy of Kebbi State, had only 3pts from 15 matches played.
The owner and President of Joecas Football Academy, Joseph Johnson was so impressed with the performance of his boys that he had to dig deep into his pocket to bless them financially.
A visibly happy and satisfied Joecas, as he’s fondly called, told journalists after the encounter: “As the president of Joecas Academy, I couldn’t be prouder of our team’s performance in this highly competitive local derby against Plateau Jets SC. The boys showed incredible determination, teamwork, and fighting spirit, which ultimately earned us a well-deserved 1-0 victory.”
Mr. Joseph Johnson continues:”This win is not just about three points; it’s a testament to the hard work, discipline, and progress we are making as a team. Special recognition goes to Nefai Tobias for his relentless effort and crucial assist, and to Favour John for finishing the opportunity brilliantly. But most importantly, it was a full team effort, and every player contributed to this success.”
The amiable Joseph Johnson concluded: “Looking ahead, we remain focused and determined. This victory is just a stepping stone, and we know the challenges ahead will be even tougher. We will continue to train hard, stay disciplined, and approach every game with the same hunger and commitment. Our goal is to keep improving and making our supporters proud.
Thank you to everyone who has been supporting Joecas Academy—we will keep pushing forward.”
Favour John scored the winning goal in the dying minutes of the encounter after receiving a killer pass from Nefai Tobias to grab the maximum points at stake in the Week 16 encounter.
Joecas FA steady rise and ascendancy can be noticed in their only 1-0 loss to the youthful and enterprising Mighty Jets U-19 side in match Day 15, after being the whipping boys in the Northern conference of the N-Youth League Cup, conceding 4, 5, 6 and 7 goals even at home!
Joecas Football Academy now has 6points from 16 matches played after proving bookmakers wrong, beating highly rated Plateau Jets Sports Club 1-0.
It would be recalled that Plateau Jets Sports Club thrashed the same Joecas FA 7-0 in the first round.
