History was made on the 2nd of September , 2024, at the Plateau State Football Association Secretariat, as the apex football team on the Plateau, Plateau United Football Club, paid a visit on the Board Members of the PFA to come together and channel the way forward for the progress and betterment of football on the Plateau.
Receiving the Plateau United Management, led by the General Manager, Hon. Habila Hosea Mutla, the Plateau State Football Association Chairman, Hon. Dr. Suleiman Yahaya Kwande said: “I want to commend the GM of Plateau United for this visit and for making it possible to bring back the lost, but very important synergy which before I and my Board came on board was missing. It clearly shows that we are all on the same page and with this singular act, I can tell you that Plateau United and football in general on the Plateau will record mouthwatering achievements the game has never recorded in the State.”
Responding, the General Manager of Plateau United Football Club, Hon. Habila Hosea Mutla, commends the leadership of the PFA Chairman. In his words: “I give thumbs up for the touches, renovations and facelift given to this PFA Secretariat. It’s now you can call this place an office. I commend you Hon. Kwande for your humility and loyalty in keeping players and football clubs positively busy on the Plateau with series of activities.”
Habila Mutla continued: “Although we finished 5th last season and even going ahead to be the second best attacking team with lots of goals, and with football lovers singing our praises to high heavens, but we are not satisfied because our target was to get a continental ticket. I must first and foremost appreciate our sports loving Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for his fatherly support and not forgetting the PFA too. But the season, we want to better our outings of last season.”
Before now, never had Plateau State Football Association and Plateau United FC sat round table to chart the way forward, at least, not in the past 15 years.
Plateau United FC will host Katsina United FC in their first match of this season on Sunday, at the New Jos Stadium.
